AIM also accentuates a students preparation through enhancement sessions for CSAT, Essay, Ethics and Current Affairs such that you'll not be just ready for prelims but also adequately prepared to crack Mains in the same attempt.
Challenges Faced by Students Who Have Completed Syllabus
lack of conceptual clarity on issues
In most cases, students even after completion of their foundation program or after multiple attempts lack in basic conceptual clarity required to clear the exam.
lack of fortified concise notes
Having concise and fortified notes is a sine qua non for clearing the exam. Most of the students follow existing notes which may not be updated or not suitable to their needs.
not engaging in appropriate answer writing practice
Most students who engage in answer writing are not practising with the right format or using quality questions or PYQ's to strengthen their answer writing skills. This can provide a false impression of having mastered answer writing in the short term
NOT ADDRESSING SYLLABUS BLIND SPOTS
Despite completion of syllabus every student has certain syllabus blind spots which can impact their Prelims & Mains scores. However most of the students generally either fail to identify these blind spots or tend to ignore them completely.
LACK OF EXPERIENCED MENTORSHIP SUPPORT
A key ingredient to any student's ability to crack this exam is the guidance and suggestions provided by mentors at various stages of the examination process. The lack of it makes preparation directionless and cumbersome.
MAINTAINING YEAR-LONG CONSISTENCY
Due to lack of serious and competitive peer group and a structured preparation schedule sustaining motivation becomes extremely difficult. Having more time is always a bigger problem than having less time to prepare.
UNSTRUCTURED PREPARATION SCHEDULE
When students start their self study stage of the preparation after foundation classes, they often find themselves not adhering to a strict schedule.
LACK OF COMPETITIVE PEER GROUP
Having a competitive and serious group of peers not only helps students to work hard but also serve as a forum which can aid the students preparation through meaningful discussions.
